As a Transactional Finance Team Lead - Accounts Payable, you’ll play a key part in keeping things moving for our customers, suppliers and The Pros around you. You’ll take ownership, solve problems properly, and work with people across the business to make things simpler, faster and better.
You’ll be trusted to get stuck in, make decisions, and see things through.

The team is collaborative, fast-paced and continuously evolving, with a strong focus on delivering an excellent service while embracing automation, innovation and continuous improvement.
As Transactional Finance Team Lead – Accounts Payable, you'll lead a talented Accounts Payable team, working closely with colleagues across Finance, Procurement and the wider business to ensure our supplier payments and financial controls operate efficiently and accurately.
Lead and support the day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring work is delivered accurately and within agreed service levels
Oversee supplier invoice processing, payment runs, supplier account maintenance and query resolution
Monitor team performance against KPIs and SLAs, providing coaching and support to drive continuous improvement
Act as the escalation point for complex supplier or stakeholder queries
Coach, develop and mentor team members, creating a high-performing and engaged team culture
Support month-end activities including reconciliations, accruals and reporting
Build strong relationships with Finance, Procurement and key business stakeholders
Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance with audit and VAT requirements
Identify opportunities to improve processes through standardisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives
Support finance transformation projects and help embed best practice across the function
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done and works well with others to make it happen.
You don’t need to tick every single box, but you’ll likely bring:
Previous experience leading an Accounts Payable team within a high-volume Shared Service Centre or corporate finance environment
Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, financial controls and supplier management
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Proven experience coaching, developing and motivating teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and driving efficiencies
Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and service
It would be great if you also have:
A recognised finance qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Experience using OCR, automation or workflow tools within Accounts Payable
Knowledge of VAT regulations and audit requirements
Experience supporting finance transformation or continuous improvement projects
